Maximizing a Marquee Event
Driving awareness of anti-corruption progress
Transparency International, the gold standard in anti-corruption advocacy and corporate compliance, wanted a larger platform to communicate its message in the United States. The organization was planning to recognize Hillary Rodham Clinton with its annual Integrity Award and turned to Silverline to maximize the moment and foster broader understanding of its goals to improve transparency and integrity among business and government actors.
Our Approach
The Silverline team worked directly with the Executive Director, board, and planning staff to determine the most effective messages, media targets, and social channels for carrying the Transparency International message to global business and government stakeholders. To execute the plan, the team coordinated with Mrs. Clinton’s protocol and press office to develop a press release, discuss media strategy, and coordinate event remarks. The team also worked with the Department of Homeland Security, Secret Service, and Executive Staff of TI to manage the physical space and ensure security needs were anticipated and met.
Outcomes
The event was a resounding success with coverage in multiple global markets including the Reuters and Bloomberg News wires. Social media engagement was strong, with Facebook and YouTube content published by the State Department and related channels associated with Secretary Clinton. The organization partnered with Silverline again for the following year’s event.
