Assistant Account Executive

Job Description

  • Attend and prepare for special events such as launches, trade shows, product/media tours

  • Arrange client-related team meetings and conference calls and/or events

  • Prepare and create activity reports such as news scans, meeting notes, coverage reports, and monthly activity reports

  • Conduct research, analyze findings and identify trends

  • Prepare background for new business pitches

  • Identify speaking, award and event opportunities for clients

  • Develop first draft of press releases, pitches, long-form content, submissions, article summaries and agency marketing materials

  • Develop media lists and editorial calendars

  • Conduct media/social media outreach to local, trade and specialty publications and manage incoming reporter media requests

  • Monitor client/competitor/industry news and identify related trends

  • Update and maintain client coverage tracker

  • Develop media briefing documents to support client interviews

  • Monitor social accounts across assigned clients

  • Act as point person on certain aspects of the client business

  • May help mentor and give daily direction to interns

Job Qualifications

  • Public Relations/communications including school or internship experience

  • Bachelor’s degree. Degree in public relations, marketing, communications, journalism or related field preferred

  • Basic understanding of client/industry news cycles, issues and trends

  • Excellent people skills! Must be a team player who communicates well with team members at all levels, jumps in and gives it your all to do great work

  • Excellent time management skills and proven success at juggling conflicting priorities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
