Breaking Through in a Crowded Market: How a New Association is Growing Its Membership with Strategic Media and Messaging

When the Zinc Battery Initiative set out to grow its membership and raise awareness, they turned to Silverline for a strategic media and messaging plan. Founded in 2020 by a national association, the initiative represents developers of rechargeable zinc-based batteries and needed to build its presence in a competitive market driven by Lithium-Ion.

To make an impact, Silverline launched monthly media campaigns showcasing the benefits of zinc battery technology. We developed a calendar of industry events and award opportunities to boost the organization’s visibility and crafted the tagline “the voice of the battery industry”—a phrase that has since been widely referenced in the media.

The results spoke for themselves. In just six months, we secured nearly two dozen articles in leading media platforms reaching millions of readers and subscribers. We also landed key speaking opportunities, including a highly sought-after spot at a leading event platform for the energy industry—an achievement the organization had previously struggled to attain.
